Canada Day Weekend Events.
This Canada Day weekend is going to bring the true spirit of The North to Toronto. From fireworks and festivals to themed-events and Canadian classics, here are 5 of the places you and the family need to be this Canada Day Weekend!
Black Creek Pioneer Village
July 1, 11AM – 5PM
Celebrate Canada Day at Black Creek Pioneer Village and party like its 1867! Travel back in time and experience the wonder of a 19th century carnival where performers juggle fire, amaze you with magic and inspire you with unbelievable feats of strength. Carnival games, musicians and theatre accompany historic ales and farm animals. This event is one for the ages!
Etobicoke Centennial Park
June 28, 3PM – 10PM; June 29 to July 1, 11AM – 10PM
For Toronto Ribfest, make your way to Etobicoke Centennial Park and bring out your inner Canadian by feasting on ribs, ribs and more ribs! Enjoy live music on three stages while you kick back in the beer garden. Treat the kids to KidzZone activities, face painting, and magic shows while you try your luck on the massive Midway and the steady stream of daily activities.
June 28 to July 1, All Day Long
Hear the stories and listen to the songs that make Canada the culturally rich country it is today at the Harbourfront Centre. Bring the family and enjoy the tales of Canada from coast to coast told through the Canadian Songbook: past, present, and future. As an added bonus, Toronto’s home grown music collective Broken Social Scene will also be performing.
July 1, 10AM – 10PM
Fireworks at 10PM!
In East York, Canada Day will begin with a parade that will end its march in Stan Wadlow Park. From there, the festivities will continue with a full day of family fun: live music, food, performers, rides and a local craft beer garden! As if that wasn’t enough, IMPACT Skate Club will showcase their skills, the swimming pools will be open, and Paul James Band will perform!
Richmond Green Park
July 1, 11AM – 11PM
Fireworks at 10PM!
In Richmond Hill, Richmond Green Park is hosting a superhero-themed Canada Day! So in addition to enjoying a Midway, beer garden patio, live entertainment and music, and food vendors, come down as your favourite superhero and witness a superhero parade and take part in a whole host of superhero activities! Cap the night off with a fireworks display set to music.
While it may not be possible to attend every event – as much as we’d all like to – if you plan your weekend right, you just might be able to pack enough in to make this Canada Day one to remember!
