Fall Is In The Air.

Fall is quickly approaching, and with winter fast behind it, the time for outdoor activities is now. That's why we put our favourite things to do in Pickering in this blog for you to go and experience for yourself.

Get into nature
Greenwood Conservation Area
2290 Greenwood Rd, Ajax

Greenwood offers residents and visitors alike a chance to escape to nature along the banks of Duffins Creek. This spot is known for some of the best fishing in September as brook trout take on brilliant colouration. Scenic, diverse, and interesting, with cultural and natural history woven throughout, Greenwood Conservation Area is only a short 7 minute drive away from our New Seaton community coming this Fall – the perfect season for a picnic or hike with the family under autumn hues!

Apple Picking
Pingle’s Farm Market
1805 Taunton Rd, Hampton

Nothing says Fall quite like apple picking and pumpkin patches. Not too far from the New Seaton area is Pingle’s Apple farm just a 23-minute drive away. With entertainment for all ages including tractor rides, an eight-acre maze, a bouncy castle, mini golf, hay stacks, baked goods, and hot chocolate bars, Pingle’s Farm Market is the perfect place for a family outing. Make sure to check out the Pumpkin Chunkin Cannon Show while you’re there!

Brewery Tour
Multiple Locations

In the recent years, the Durham Region has emerged as one of the top craft brewery areas in Ontario! Featuring Old Flame, The Second Wedge, and Brock St. Brewing Companies, this area is keen for those looking to learn more about the beer and cider making processes. Sample on the spot, take a tour, meet the brewer and carry some beer home with you to share later on!

Waterfront Stroll
757 McKay Rd, Pickering

Just minutes from downtown, this is the perfect lakeside escape for those wanting to get away from the city pace. The Waterfront Trail is a scenic haven for cycling, in-line skating, and leisurely strolls. Relax on one of the sandy beaches, wander through the miles of colourful trails, or paddle along the Frenchman’s Bay. Whatever the season, the natural beauty of Pickering's waterfront is waiting for you.
