It’s the long weekend and whether you are looking to spend some quality time with your family, friends and loved ones here are some highlight events happening within the Aspen Ridge communities!
Victoria Day Fireworks
Close off your long weekend with a bang! Take a trip south to Ashbridges Bay park where the City of Toronto will host it’s official Victoria Day fireworks display. This will be the cherry on top to your long weekend as it will feature over 2,000 fireworks blanketing the scenic lakeview. The show will begin at 9:45 p.m. on Monday, May 22. Don’t miss it!
There is a smaller show just a short distance away at Woodbine Beach. This show will be at Boardwalk Place on Monday May 22 at 10 p.m.
If you are driving, beware of the massive crowds as they make for a traffic and parking a nightmare. Guests are encouraged to take public transit; the TTC runs increased streetcar service along Queen East for the event.

Canada’s Wonderland is a always a good idea if you are looking for some action-packed fun for the whole family! On the night of Sunday May 21, Canada’s Wonderland will present its spectacular fireworks display when the Park closes at 10:00 p.m. if weather permitting. Spend your day enjoying the 200+ rides, and attractions not to mention the delectable funnel cake delicacy then head on over to Wonder Mountain to end your night.

If you are in the Newmarket region and love a good flick, take advantage of the free outdoor movie screening happening in Newmarket Riverwalk Commons. Yes, it will be projected on a huge classic inflatable screen complete with free popcorn provided by the Newmarket Scouts. Bring your own chair, blanket and snacks for an entertaining evening under the stars!

Summer of Flight
Start the flying season off with the excitement of authentic World War One replica aircrafts. The Great War Flying Museum located in Brampton is kicking off its first day open to the public with an air show. You can get up close to the aircraft in the hangar and also explore the newly renovated artifact museum. This is the perfect daytime event as you can enjoy the stunning aircraft while basking in the sunshine. Fees by donation.

Nobleton Victoria Day Festival
For those who live in York region, the King township with be hosting its annual Nobleton Victoria Day Fair running for 52 years! The day starts with a parade through the Nobleton community which leads you to a day of music, food, shop vendors and more! At dusk, there will be a fireworks celebration taking place behind the Nobleton arena parking lot to end off your night.

There are also a number of stores, malls, attractions, and general businesses that will be closed or operating on reduced schedules on Monday May 22 so don’t forget to double-check. We recommend to stock up on supplies during the weekend!
