Canadians rejoice! The Canadian winter is well on its way which marks the beginning of one of the best times of year – skating season! It’s time to take those skates out of hibernation and lace them up, because the cold is on its way, the snow is falling, and some of the city’s best skating destinations will be opening up! Nathan Phillips Square 

A winter season staple in Toronto, Nathan Phillips Square will once again play host to one of the most beautifully lit outdoor skating arena’s in the city. Located a quick 5-minute walk from Studio Condos – come enjoy the vibrancy of old city hall while towering skyscrapers enclose you in its gorgeous scenery.  All of that skating can work up quite the appetite so unlace those skates and enjoy more than 20 food & drink vendors that line the perimeter of the square. The holiday season isn’t complete without a quick skate at Nathan Phillips Square! 




The Natrel Rink

Harbourfront Centre offers more than high culture — it also houses this popular, free rink by the lake, complete with heated indoor change rooms and its own rink-side bar and grill. Natrel hosts a DJ skate night every Saturday evening, for those who want to combine skating and clubbing.



Mill Pond 

Nestled beautifully in the heart of Richmond Hill and down the street from Chelsea, lays the serene Mill Pond – an out of use, 18th century saw mill that once used the pond for power. Apart from its rich heritage, the pond freezes over in the winter, making for a great evening skate within a quaint surrounding.  Mill Pond also plays host to the Richmond Hill Winter Carnival – a 3-day carnival filled with skating, live entertainment, games, as well as over 20 food and drink vendors! 


Evergreen Brick Works

Residents of Scenic are in for a treat with this winter amenity! A visit to the Evergreen skating trail in the Don Valley will give you beautiful expansive views of the city. Enjoy a family-friendly rink for a leisurely skate.
