If you are looking for a low-key night out, consider one of the many cinemas screening the event. At the top of the list is the Royal Cinema. Admission is free, and drinks, snacks and hilarious commentary will all be available.

The Bloor Hot Docs Cinema is also hosting their annual free screening with promises of trivia, prizes and contests. Other theatres screening the event include:

Revue Cinema

Fox Theatre

Big Picture Cinema

If you are looking for something more energetic, there are pubs and clubs across the city going all out for the big night. At Hunters Landing, they are celebrating the Oscars in style, complete with a red carpet, paparazzi and staff dressed to impress.

At the Drake Hotel, a party is being co-hosted by the programmer of the Toronto International Film Festival and local actress and singer Christine Aziz.
